Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city, sprawls across the beautiful west coast archipelago of thousands of granite islands and skerries. The stunning coastal scenery and lot a spectator at the height of the summer in early August provide the perfect setting for a unique Swimrun party.

Why Gothenburg?

In Gothenburg we will build on a very strong local Swimrun tradition and showcase a unique place. For the fourth time, this exciting race will take place just off the mainland of Gothenburg. This race is super accessible by local ferries arriving several times per hour.

The islands are beautiful granite islands with small communities everywhere; the summer tradition, the ocean and the friendly smiles are always there to cheer you on throughout the race. It is a lovely setting for a great Swimrun party and a true celebration of the Swedish summer.

In the beginning of August it is the height of the summer in Gothenburg. Water temperatures area round 18 degrees C.

Like everywhere we can have wind, rain and un-seasonably cold weather. Make sure you bring clothes to handle this. The water on the West coast is salty.

In the water there are jelly fish. The white ones are harmless and the red ones sting. The sting is not very strong compared to the Mediterreanean jelly fish.

We welcome all spectators, friends and families to participate in our events.

The races are great to follow as a spectator. All courses are very easily accessible from the ferry services. By a day pass and ride around to cheer the racers on.

NOTE: you may not assist any teams unless if it is a medical emergency. Any other assistance will result in disqualification of the team.
